PaySauce is a cloud-based payroll system designed to make managing payroll easier and more efficient for New Zealand businesses.

Step 1 - Add the integration

Go to Settings → Integrations, click the Add Integration button, and select PaySauce.

Costing Code (Optional)

If you’d like to track costs by location, department, or role in PaySauce, enable the costing code here.

Note: This feature requires a PaySauce Premium subscription to import costings.

Employee Mapping

Map employees between Timble and PaySauce using either their IRD number or the External Reference field.

Step 2 - PaySauce Settings

In this step, we’ll set up Tagsets, Templates, and employee payment settings in PaySauce.

1. Tagsets

Go to your company’s Settings → Tagsets in PaySauce.

Add a Factor tagset:

This tagset allows PaySauce to interpret the timesheets and leave data exported from Timble.

  • Name: Factor
  • Can Tag: Employee and Transaction
  • Links With: Employee, Period, Timecard, Report, Payment, Deduction, and Timeband
  • Tags:
    • ORD: 1
    • AL: allowance.leave.annual
    • SL: allowance.leave.sick
    • BL: allowance.leave.bereavement
    • ALT: allowance.leave.alttaken
    • LWOP: allowance.leave.withoutpay

Costing Code (Optional)

If you want to track your business expenses by location, department, or role, you can set up costing codes. To do this, create custom tags that match the tag values defined in Timble (e.g., Role: Barista, Chef, Cook; Department: FOH, Kitchen; Location: CBD).

Note: Costing codes require a PaySauce Premium subscription.

2. Templates

Go to Settings → Templates in PaySauce and create a new template.

  • Name: Timesheets - Timble
  • Template Type: Timesheet
  • Time Captured: Timeband
  • Type: Rate and Factor
  • Default Factor: 1
  • Factor Lookup: Factor (created in the first step)
  • Rate Lookup: None
  • Allow Costing: Yes, if you are importing costings.
  • Cost With: Department, Location, Role (if costing is enabled).

3. Link Templates

Link the template to employee payments to ensure timesheet imports work correctly.

Step 3 - Export Timble Timesheets & Leave

Make sure all timesheets and leave requests are approved for the pay period. Then, go to the Timesheets page and click the Export button.

Step 4 - Upload the Timesheet File to PaySauce

Click the Run a Pay button and upload the timesheet CSV file.

If no errors occur, the Begin Import button will appear. If there are errors, use the warnings to fix them, then try again.

You can review timesheet and leave details after the import.
